JUNIOR DESIGNER - Full time, in-person position

You are: Proactive, responsive, attuned, learning oriented, can manage a spreadsheet with a smile, engaged, meticulously organized + highly internally motivated, willing and able to follow the process we’ve created. Quick learner, comfortable in fast paced environment. Able to assimilate to the aesthetic of Noble Studio on behalf of our clients. Reading design books and magazines in your downtime. Continually self-educating out of equal parts love and ambition. You can take direction well, but also think creatively. Great communicator. You are local, able to work from our office, and have reliable transportation and a can-do attitude about lifting and carrying heavy things on occasion.

You are hugely responsible for how we look and feel to our clients, builders, vendors.  The degree to which we are prepared well and able to stay on budget rests largely on your shoulders.  You make our vendors and partners as well as clients sing our praises because we are organized; it is because of your loving attention to the minutiae that the details don’t get overlooked.  You make us more profitable by ensuring we get things right the first time.  You make us productive because we have our ducks in a row.  You are critically important to the success and reputation of our firm.

Essential tasks:

Drafting and rendering: AutoCad / Chief Architect / Sketchup proficient

Keeps projects organized via dropbox and project management software

Interprets the design intent from lead designer and implements by sourcing and hashing out details

Keeps client materials bins, binders, and files organized and complete

Oversees builder allowances to create budgets for selections

Attend meetings with clients to make selections and document their selections

Helps to build and implement the details of projects by sourcing specific products

Gathers quotes, samples

Strong graphic skills - digital presentation prep using Noble standards in Canva

Vendor meeting preparation: sending budget and selections ahead of time, sending design docs 

Prepares client product proposals and invoices for review by lead

Sources products for furnishings / styling and shops for accessories

Call showrooms for pricing, check stock, lead-time, request CFAs, etc.

Works with procurement coordinator in the ordering process

Pickups and deliveries of fabric, materials as needed

Assist with social media

Requirements: Degree in interior design or architecture, 2-3 years experience in internships or design firm preferred.

LEAD DESIGNER - Full time, in-person position

You are: Creative, design obsessed, fast-paced, decisive, but equally thoughtful and careful. Can have direct and productive conversations with clients or team members because you value connection and clarity over ego and you possess mature, proactive, diplomatic communication skills. You are constantly honing his/her design eye and knowledge of both materials and principals as a matter of passion, not because it's required. You meet unknowns with desire to learn new skills. Comfortable with taking design intent / direction from the principal and building on it. You are capable of handling the nitty gritty, but also capable of delegating wisely when appropriate. You own your projects and their schedules, budgets and outcomes.

The lead designer will have a very high level of responsibility and ownership of the projects he/she manages.  This role will lead the creation of a project’s comprehensive interiors scheme after the general design intention is established by/with the principal. 

The lead designer has a self-appointed and proactive responsibility for the coordination of interior architecture, programming, space planning, and material selections to be approved by the principal and carried out by the team. This is a leadership role for the design, selection, and specification of all FF&E [furnishings, finishes and equipment] and he/she will be responsible for the design and technical coordination for all facets of the interior design specifications package. 

The Lead Designer role is highly creative, but also requires a highly detailed and organized person, able to manage a team as they navigate and document thousands of details for high-end, highly custom interior design projects.

In addition to these job responsibilities, a lead designer at Noble is passionate and internally driven, pursuing self-education and making consistent effort to better him/herself as a designer.  

Essential tasks:

Manage project start to close, overseeing a team to create a beautiful outcome and happy clients.

Maintain client project calendars with milestones and due dates

Communicate/collaborate with Principal on job concept and project goals

Proactively create a complete job scope list and delegate tasks and budget resources

Prepare client contracts/proposals for approval 

Lead client meetings and present content, guide clients through process

Provide weekly status updates

Analyze and resolve complex technical, design, and installation issues

Oversee the creation of drawing package: 3D designs, architectural models, renderings, and construction sets. 

Oversee drawing packages and renderings for full construction sets, including electrical layout, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, millwork drawings and details, furniture layouts.

Design and review construction / shop drawings for custom built-ins and furniture

Oversee creation of client mood boards, presentations.

Create initial design concepts in collaboration with Principal/Creative Director

Design in line with firm aesthetic standards and meets expectations for being high quality, unique, custom

Specify materials, finishes, furnishings, lighting, accessories, etc. required for each project 

Oversee deadlines of mood board creations in line with graphic standards of the firm

Ensure samples and presentation documents are prepared for presentation

Present and deliver Client Presentation

Gather client feedback and incorporate into revisions

Prepare client proposals for approval and purchasing

Generate and process all purchase orders and invoices

Lead installation process with procurement and styling team, oversee photoshoot, and delegate post-installation returns.

Site visits, construction walk-throughs

Styling team coordination for end-of-project

Physically able to perform various installation project requirements such as lifting, standing for long periods, using a ladder, and other physical duties. 

Requirements: Degree in interior design or architecture, 3-5 years experience in internships or an architecture / design firm.
